Vermillion River Alpacas is located along the Vermillion River on the outskirts of Hastings, near the small town of Vermillion, MN. We raise Huacaya (wa-ki-ya) and Suri (sur-ee) alpacas and Boer goats. We are a working farm, as well as operate a fiber processing mill and farm store. Rachel Boucher owns and manages the farm and mill (see the link for more information regarding the mill and store), while Sue Leatherman, works in the mill and manages the alpacas on the farm. Our weekdays are filled with processing roving and yarns for our customers and our evenings and weekends tending to farm and animal management.
Resting on 20 acres one of our goals is to raise happy, healthy animals and provide a place where families or individuals can come and spend time. Maybe you’d like to participate in a fun farm event, or just spend time with alpacas and watch goats play. Perhaps you’d like to Adopt an Alpaca for a year? Visit our Adopt an Alpaca program and enjoy ownership of an alpaca without the daily chore responsibilities!
We also provide additional farm services. Maybe you’re looking for a safe and healthy place for your alpacas to live, or you’re considering adding to your herd, we offer boarding, breeding, and sales.
So, whatever you’re looking for, fun activities or farm services, come check us out and enjoy the outdoors and animals!
