Farmer For A Day
Looking for outdoor fun for family or friends? Have you ever wanted to experience life on a farm? Now you can…
Start your day with a tour to the barns to feed the animals. Help feed grain and hay to the goats and alpacas. Visit with the goats and alpacas, go ahead have a conversation with them, they are great listeners! Or simply sit back and observe while we talk about their care and management.
Next, tour the fiber mill and store. See how we take shorn fiber from our alpacas and turn it into yarn and yarn products. Visit the store to see a variety of yarns and products. Yarn and yarn products make great gifts for family members or friends.
Next, choose an activity. Walk an alpaca, enjoy a quiet walk with an alpaca and tell him/her your story, or bring a lawn chair and sit in the pasture with them and read a book, listen to music, or just sit. If your looking for more action, hangout with the goats, watch the spring babies run and jump around you as Mom hangs close and waits for a scratch or two from you. But if you truly have the desire to work and get your hands dirty you can help halter train the young alpacas (if available) or muck out the barns!
Lunch time…bring a picnic lunch and enjoy a picnic with the alpacas. And when you’re done, have fun feeding the alpacas or goats their favorite treat, apple slices!
Lastly, enjoy fiber crafts (adult and children). You will be surprised what you can make and take home with you.
Cost:
- $45.00 per person
- children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult
